Welcome to this week’s Anime News Recap. This week is a trailer week, as many big announcements were accompanied by previews, so sit back back and enjoy some previews of the newest anime announcements.

Mysterious Joker

Based off Hideyasu Takahashi’s manga of the same name, Mysterious Joker is about a phantom thief who goes by he name Joker. His quest to is to steal valuable treasure against seemingly impossible odds, much like Lupin III or Dark Mousy (DNAngel). The commercial that was released features Mysterious Joker’s theme song “Kaito Miracle Shonen Boy” (Mysterious Miracle Young Boy) by Aruka Rider. The anime will begin broadcasting on October 6th.

Seven Deadly Sins

Another television commercial released this week was for Nakaba Suzuki’s The Seven Deadly Sins anime adaptation. After being falsely accused of trying to overthrow the monarchy, the Seven Deadly Sins–a group of strong warriors–are exiled from the kingdom. Princess Elizabeth finds out that the Holy Knights, the King’s personal guard, used them to start a coup to kill the king and usurp his throne. Now on the run, she must seek out and find the Seven Deadly Sins to take back her kingdom. The preview is accompanied by The Seven Deadly Sins’ theme song “Netsujo no Spectrum” (Spectrum of Passion) by Ikimono-gakari and is scheduled to begin broadcast on October 5th.

Attack on Titan: No Regret

When it comes to Attack on Titan, Eren is supposed to be the main protagonist with Mikasa and Armin, but when his superior Levi was introduced, a lot of fans abandoned Eren and flocked to him instead. Now for those fans, Levi has been given his own story in the prequel to Attack on Titen, known as Attack on Titan: No Regret. Based off the spin-off manga of the same name, AoT: No Regret stars Levi as just a normal street punk who becomes captain of the Survey Corps, and also follows Captain Erwin becoming a fierce defender of humanity. The new OVAs will come out as two episodes which will be packaged with the release of Attack on Titan volumes 15 and 16 when they are released in December 2014 and April 2015.

Guardians of the Galaxy Previewed in Disk Wars Avengers

They’ve already made an impact in Hollywood, now they are ready to take on the anime world. The Guardians of the Galaxy were featured in an episode of Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers this past week and now they are being previewed to show up again in the next episode. Disk Wars is a Digimon-esque collaboration between Disney and Toei Animation. Tony Stark invents a device that entraps supervillains in a digital jail. During the presentation, Loki uses the disks to capture the Avengers in a cruel twist of irony. A boy by the name of Akira Akatsuki finds the disks and realizes he can release the Avengers for a short time to fight evil. According to the plot for these episodes, “The five guardians fall to Earth, and the Avengers and their friends find them. The team’s enemy Ronan unleashes the the space dragon Fin Fang Foom on Earth, who threatens that if the Guardians do not give back the Kree Mact energy they stole, it will destroy the Earth. The Guardians fight alongside the Avengers to protect the planet.” The next episode premieres September 15.
