DICE has been teasing gamers for a while now, slowly revealing footage and information regarding their upcoming first person shooter, Battlefield 3. For those who don’t know, Battlefield 3 is being developed by Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (DICE) out of Stockholm, Sweden. This FPS is being powered by the new Frostbite 2.0 Engine, which features destructible environments, high dynamic range audio, and an animation system that was brought over from the FIFA video game series.

Flying jets is only half the fun. The other half is crashing them.

Earlier this year, DICE released a tech-focused alpha build, which was only open to PC players. If you were one of the many people who missed out on the alpha, you will have the chance to play the beta. For those who bought the Medal of Honor Limited Edition (PC,360,PS3) or pre-ordered Battlefield 3 on EA’s origin website, they will be able to play the beta today. In two days from now, the beta will become open to everyone, and will run until October 10th. This is most likely to give DICE some time to fine tune their servers for the official release of the game on October 25th.

I am currently downloading the beta, and I hope to have an impressions article up soon.
