Give NIS America some credit, they know where their bread is buttered. The house that Prinnies built made four game announcements at Tokyo Game Show including two Disgaea titles and one new property. Here’s the full rundown on all four titles. Screenshots can be found at the bottom of the post.
First up is a remake of Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice which first appeared on the PlayStation 3 in 2008. This will be the first game NIS will release for the upcoming Sony Vita handheld. The game will mostly be a port of the PS3 title, but should feature some new characters (one of which is in the gallery below) and subplots. Absence of Detention will be due out in both North America and Europe sometime next spring.

About Disgaea®3: Absence of Detention
Disgaea®3 is the third game in the Disgaea® series, a hardcore, turn-based strategy RPG series made popular on the PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®Portable. In Disgaea®, character units have a limit to their movement and attack ranges based on level and weapons equipped. There are other special game systems that let you take advantage of the 3D battle map, many of which are unique to the Disgaea® series.
Geo Blocks –These cube-shaped terrain-altering objects allow players to manipulate a stage’s rules and reach enemies that would normally be out of reach.
Geo Panels –These colored panels will appear on the game map and will bestow various effects depending on which Geo Blocks are placed on them. Drop a Geo Block on one panel, and every panel of the same color will share that Block’s effect, which can range from EXP bonuses to unit damage, or even invincibility!
Item World –This set of special randomly-generated battle stages exist within each and every item you find. Clearing these stages will allow you to boost that item’s power.[/spoiler]
The other Disgaea title that was featured is also portable. Disgaea: Netherworld Unbound will be NIS America’s first foray into the world of mobile phone gaming. The game will still have turn-based tactical battles, but will be set up to work better with touch-screen interfaces. Like many other phone games, this one will feature microtransactions to add additional characters and features. The base game will be free, but we will see how much add-ons cost when the game rolls out for Android phones this fall.

Clan of Champions (working title, PS3/XBox 360/PC)
The last of the announcements from NIS America concerned a new property with the working title Clan of Champions. The game is a little different from what NIS America usually releases as they’ve teamed up with Acquire Corp., best known for the Tenchu games. It looks to be more of an action/adventure title where you pick a character and go through a variety of missions. The game also offers multiplayer, both a co-operative mission mode and a battle mode where you can fight together or against each other. There’s not much more to go on right now, but more information is bound to come out between now and its release next spring.
