The latest installment of Square Enix’s Dragon Quest series has already eclipsed four million copies sold in Japan alone, and starting in July, it will finally be available outside the Land of the Rising Sun. Nintendo of America will be publishing the Nintendo DS’s first main series Dragon Quest title, but Square Enix will be handling the localization.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinel of the Starry Sky features a “Tag Mode” that exchanges battle statistics and character information between DSes simply by being in the same area. The title will ship July 11th in North America and July 23rd in Europe. The game is available for pre-order at the official website along with a short animated trailer but no English gameplay footage as of yet.
