The 3DS Expansion Slide Pad, as it is officially called, was finally given a price tag and release date. The add-on will cost ¥1,500 (~US$20), and it will be released on December 10 in Japan. There has been no word on a US release date.

We have some pics of the new Pink 3DS. It is only going to be released in Japan at this time. There are no plans for an international release. The announced release date is October 20th. During the press conference yesterday President Satoru Iwata showed a sales graph indicating that more men have bought the 3DS than women and he hopes that the pink color will change that.

This November, a new system update will add a few features. The camera application is getting an upgrade so it will be able to capture 3D video. The system update will also add “new experiences” for people who have finished all the StreetPass features of the Mii Plaza. While more puzzles and a new Find Mii game are expected, Nintendo has hinted that other features are part of the update.

As part of the ongoing celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo is giving away for free The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition.  The game will be available from Sept. 28, 2011 to Feb. 20, 2012. It is a DSiWare download so those with a DSi or a 3DS can get a copy.   The game allows up to four players who have downloaded the game to play cooperatively and has also been enhanced with a new single-player mode. Once players finish the main quest, they will unlock new stages and abilities.
