FUNimation has announced part of the English voice cast for their summer DVD and Blu-Ray release of Baka and Test – Summon the Beasts. Over at the website, you can find a link to watch the episodes with subtitles for free, but dub fans will have to wait until the disc releases later this year.

Still missing from the announcement is the protagonist Akihisa Yoshii among other characters. Class F’s other members will include Brina Palencia (Spice and Wolf, Evangelion 1.0: You Are [NOT] Alone) as Hideyoshi, and Greg Ayres (Full Metal Panic!, Negima!?) will play Kouta. Minami will be voiced by Leah Clark (Eden of the East, School Rumble) and Mizuki will be dubbed by Alexis Tipton (Rosario + Vampire, Linebarrels of Iron). Jamie Marchi (Soul Eater, Jyu Oh Sei) will play Class A representative Shouko.

FUNimation’s description of Baka and Test:

When a fight breaks out at Fumizuki Academy, nobody throws a single punch. Instead, the students utilize the school’s technology to summon Avatars, pint-sized stand-ins with battle powers based on academic ability. That “academic ability” part is bad news for Yoshii – because Yoshii’s an idiot, stuck in lowly Class F with the slackers. If these misfits want to escape their dump of a classroom and earn some respect, they’ll have to fight their way up the ranks and take on Class A, the Academy’s brightest students. It’s going to be tough, that’s for sure. But once the underachievers of Class F get motivated, they don’t give up – and Yoshii can’t even spell surrender!
