NIS America has announced a premium edition for their upcoming release of Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up. This special edition includes clean openings and endings for nearly all episodes as well as a hardcover, full color artbook. The artbook is 36 pages long and contains bios, concept art, interviews, etc.

Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up follows the Demon Patrol, a ridiculous group of misfits tasked with saving the world. The members of this rag-tag group are, as the press release puts it, “a hotheaded demon prince; a sultry, half-naked ice princess; a lusty frog-demon spy, a talking wizard hat,” and a little girl. With demons trying to destroy Earth, these heroes have to battle some crazy monsters, including “a vengeful squid, a somnambulant kittycat, a pot full of snakes, a night-stalking deciduous, a hater of crotches, and even a literal butthead.” Go Nagai (Devilman, Mazinger Z) is the original author of this series from Brain’s Base (Durarara!!, Natsume’s Book of Friends), and Yoshitomo Yonetani (Brigadoon, Betterman) is the director.

It looks like this series has a pretty well-known Japanese voice cast. Enma is voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi, also known for playing Inuyasha in the anime of the same name. Mamiko Noto, who voices Yukiko, also voices Sawako Kuronuma in Kimi ni Todoke. Other cast members you might recognize include Takehito Koyasu (Fushigi Yugi), Minoru Inaba (One Piece), Ayako Kawasumi (Fate/Zero), and Rumi Shishido (Xenosaga the Animation).

The premium edition of Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up will be available on September 11, 2012, for $69.99 US. The set will contain two Blu-ray discs and 2 DVDs. To learn more, check out NIS America’s page for the series.
