Kotaku is reporting that Yasuhiro Wada, best known as the creator of Marvelous’ Harvest Moon franchise, will be leaving his post for “personal reasons.” Wada has been serving as the Director of Digital Content, but will exchange that role for a consulting position with Marvelous as of April 1st.

He created the original Harvest Moon on the Super Nintendo in 1996 for Victor Interactive Software, which was eventually purchased by Marvelous Entertainment. Since then there have been 20 more titles in the main series along with nine “spin-offs,” including four Rune Factory titles.

No announcements of a replacement has been made at this time.
