Marvelous has already undergone some restructuring after Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada stepped down, but unfortunately, things haven’t improved much for the company since then. The co-creators of Little King Story (along with the now bankrupt Cing) are struggling to keep their heads above water, and have started to cut some dead weight.
For the time being, Marvelous Entertainment will close their European division and limit their development to pre-existing IPs such as Harvest Moon and Rune Factory. They will also explore the possibility of creating browser games. Somehow I see a Harvest Moon competitor for FarmVille in our future. According to Kotaku, they will also cease distribution of their own titles outside of Japan, but will continue to license them to other partners. Hopefully these moves are enough to keep the company alive.
