The Metal Gear franchise is perhaps one of the most critically acclaimed and beloved franchises in the video game world. This series, which is nearing its 25th anniversary, has over a dozen entries, which span across multiple platforms. For some, it has been hard to experience the “main story” games (8 have been released so far), as they span across multiple consoles and handhelds. Luckily, this November, Konami is re-releasing 3 of Metal Gear Solid games for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker are being re-released with high-definition graphics (720p), and will run at 60 frames per second. MGS Peace Walker will include the co-op that was found on the PSP version, but will also feature a multiplayer mode. Furthermore, Metal Gear 1 and 2, which were featured as a bonus in Metal Gear Solid 3 (Subsistence version), will be included in the collection, on top of the Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance VR missions.
A standard edition HD collection will be released on November 8th for $50. A limited edition will also be released, which features specialized packaging designed by series artist Yoji Shinkawa, and a never before released 250 page art book. This limited edition will retail for $80.
