Nintendo let some more details out today on the upcoming Kid Icarus: Uprising.

We already know a few things about the game.  Each chapter will contain an air battle and a land battle section.  The air battle plays like a on rails shooter, while the land battle plays like a third person shooter.  You can play in lefty mode using the 3DS slide pad.  There will be AR card compatibility and even a multiplayer battle system.  Now we have confirmation of a few more details.

The North American release will contain the 3DS stand that is being bundled with the Japanese release.

The difficulty of the game play can be adjusted using the “Fiend’s Cauldron”.  By filling the cauldron with hearts the player can increase the difficulty of combat in 0.1 increments.  The default difficulty is 2.0 but that can be adjusted from 0.0 to 9.0.  Higher difficulty  ratings result in greater rewards in the form of more powerful weapon drops from enemies.  Should you complete the stage you get your hearts back.  If you are defeated then a portion of the hearts will be lost and the difficulty will be lowered.

While it may seem out of place considering the Greek Mythology theme, there will be vehicle combat.  The first vehicle to be revealed is the Exo Tank.  It will have drift and boost abilities (kinda reminds me of Mario Kart) as well as a battering ram.

Pre-orders from “select” retailers will recieve a code for the 3D Classics: Kid Icarus game.

Kid Icarus: Uprising will release on  March 23 for $39.99
