ThePrincessandThePilotLogoFor the first time since jumping into the anime business in 2010, NIS America will be releasing a feature-length animated movie. The Princess and the Pilot will still receive the premium edition treatment that all NIS America’s series get, but at a slightly reduced price. Produced by Madhouse (Paprika, Death Note), The Princess and the Pilot mixes romance and action as the story follows a young fighter pilot named Charles on his journey with a princess. He is sent to rescue the prince’s betrothed from her war-torn homeland, but along the way, a detour brings the pair closer than either had expected.

The Princess and the Pilot Blu-ray disc will be packaged in a slipcase along with a hardcover art book. The movie’s runtime is just a shade under 100 minutes, and will feature Japanese audio with English subtitles. Preorders are available now at some online retailers with an MSRP of $44.99 and a North American release date of May 14th. You can see a trailer for the film at the NIS America site.
