The highly anticipated release of Persona 4: The Animation is suffering from a change of plans, but this isn’t the first time the English release has received some extra press. There was originally a kerfuffle over the English dub when Sentai Filmworks publicly announced that they will be using the original Persona 4 voice cast for the anime. At that time, the voice actors had not heard about it themselves, but it seems things have been worked out.

Now, Sentai has announced that the North American Blu-ray release of Persona 4: The Animation will only have the English track. The change comes at the request of the original Japanese license holders. As a result, Sentai has announced that they will be lowering the price of the Blu-ray release from $69.98 to $59.98 due to the removal of the Japanese track. The DVD release will still have dual audio, so its $59.98 price remains unchanged. Both versions will be released on September 18th barring any other changes.

Will the removal of the Japanese track deter you from getting the Blu-ray version? Have you already preordered the Blu-ray and want to switch? Let us know in the comments!
