If you love Shin Megami Tensei (and if you don’t, you’re a bad person and should feel bad), you can choose your distribution method for the PSP remake of the original Persona. The PSP version will be available in North America September 22nd, and you don’t even have to leave your home to get it. There doesn’t seem to be a difference in price between the digital and phyical distribution copies, but you do receive a two disc soundtrack with the UMD version. That’s your reward for facing the perils of your local game store, and well worth having to shower and brave the sun, in my opinion.

Originally, Sony said there would be no simultaneous releases on PSN and UMD until October, but apparently Atlus was able to convince them otherwise. Good job, Atlus!

  • Now is this a remake of the original Japanese release or the “localized” North American release that had a bunch of crap changed to give the appearance that the story takes place in New York and not Japan.

@KK It looks like from the descriptions I’ve seen elsewhere, that it might be a re-translation of the original since they talk about content that was never before seen in North America. I hope it’s the original version, not the gimped US release. Who knows maybe we’ll get a copy of Innocent Sin someday, too.
