Good news for people who loved the first Valkyria Chronicles! Sega has announced that it will make a sequel to the critically acclaimed yet terribly underperforming strategy game. (Maybe Sega will advertise it this time?) PS3center.net found a two page spread about the new game and were kind enough to share it with the internet. There’s not a whole lot of information about the game so far other than the fact that it is going to be on the PSP and from the scan, it seems to be centering around a group of students who get involved in the war.

I’m already thinking about purchasing a Dissidia PSP bundle anyway (as it’s the only one of the 5 consoles/handhelds I don’t own at this point). Between the Persona remakes, Star Ocean ports, and now seeing that Valkyria Chronicles 2 is headed that way, I have to admit, the PSP is making some headway in the RPG market. I was not impressed with the PSP’s game selection for the first few years of its life cycle, and I only know one person who owns one (and that’s KK), but they’re slowly winning me over. I wouldn’t be surprised if they see a boost in PSP sales when this game comes out.

  • You can borrow mine any time you want if you want to save some money as I rarely get mine out. The game selection on the PSP really sucks. Its an overpowered hand-held that could do so much but If I did not get mine for free I would not have one. But I digress. The Valkyria demo was great and I would have gotten it if I had a PS3, (fucking BC but I digress again) and I’m happy to hear that a sequel is in the works. The animé series based on it is pretty good too.
