Pirate Party Wins Seat in Eu Parliament

Wired reports that the Pirate Party took 7.1% of the vote allowing them 1 seat on the EU parliament. It’s a start at least. While the trials (literally) and tribulations of the Pirate Bay are what started the party, it was the recent enforcement of IPRED that really spurred an unprecedented amount of young voters to join the Pirate Party. This has led to the Pirate Party becoming the 3 largest party in Sweden, and if they keep expanding membership at current rates they will be the second largest party by the end of June.
