Hot on the heels of Greg’s premiere of the column, welcome to Dan’s first installment of “Keep It or Trade It?” Today I’ll be reviewing Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica for the Playstation 2. Unfortunately, my 60 GB PS3 is not compatible with this game; so, I had to dust off the real PS2 for this one. I wish I could say that that was the biggest technical problem I encountered.

In light of Final Fantasy VII’s re-release on the PlayStation Network (and my admission of never finishing it), I thought I would put together a list of the 10 best RPG’s that I’ve never completed. There are plenty of top 10 lists out there, but not many like this. I, and many of my friends, have a great knack for only playing parts of games. It doesn’t necessarily mean they were bad games; it just meant that something else came up and we never got around to finishing. (For example, I went about 2 1/2 years between discs 3 and 4 of Final Fantasy VIII). Unfortunately, RPGs often require quite a lot of time investment, and time is not an infinite resource. Well, to the universe maybe, but not to a human. These games all have some good qualities, but generally were displaced by other games or gasp real life.
