Back in the cartridge days Sonic and Knuckles had the ability to plug the old sonic games (lock On) in to the top of the cartridge to unlock new zones and other goodies. Well Sega has brought this ability to the Wii Virtual Console.

Sega announced via it’s blog today that the secret project Code named “Project Needlemouse” (which had been speculated to be a Sonic Game) is Sonic 4: Episode 1.
