The G.A.M.E.S. Blog staff were on site at SwampCon in Gainesville, Florida yesterday!  We’d like to thank Ciara Powell and the rest of the staff at SwampCon for inviting us to speak about breaking into the game journalism industry.

Dan, Greg and Shaan hosted our panel yesterday afternoon in the Rion Ballroom of the University of Florida’s Reitz Student Union.  Other speakers discussing their trades included novelist Aya Knight, cartoonist Tom Hart, and staff members from Trendy Entertainment.  Dr. Joseph Murphy from the University of Florida also held a discussion based on Azuma Hiroki’s book Otaku: Japan’s Database Animals.

While we were there, we ran into several cosplayers who were kind enough to stop for a quick picture:
